Before booking you initial consultation, you will need to contact your insurance provider and get a pre-authorisation code for an initial consultation. Once you have this, please contact us — either by calling our specialist team or via our form — and we will arrange your initial appointment with our highly experienced consultant surgeon.
This will be either face to face (at the Spire Southampton Hospital, Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital or Sarum Road Hospital), or by telephone depending on your preference and suitability.
If you are ready to book surgery after your appointment, you will be given a Procedure Code — usually a 5-digit code beginning with a ‘T’ and followed by 4 numbers. You will need to contact your insurance provider with this procedure code, which they will use to give you another pre-authorisation code for surgery. Sometimes, this code is the same as for your initial consultation.
Once you have this pre-authorisation code, send it over to us and we can proceed with booking your hernia operation. The sooner we get this code, the sooner we can book you for surgery!
